The radiation oncology team at Emerson Hospital consistently earns high satisfaction ratings from its patients. Dedicated to providing the best possible care, the group is part of the Mass General Department of Radiation Oncology in residence at the Mass General Cancer Center at Emerson Hospital – Bethke.

The team takes community care giving to heart, treating patients who are often neighbors and friends and doing their utmost to ease patients’ anxiety and discomfort as they endure arduous treatment regimens. Off hours, they apply their team spirit to raising funds for the Cancer Center, from taking part in an annual road race to organizing a gala that helped fund a linear accelerator.

Led by Jack McGrath, MD, (pictured here) the team includes Robin Schoenthaler, MD; nurses Anne Snow, RN, Trudy Colburn, RN, and Bev Lillehei, RN; radiation therapists Jackie Palazola, Jen Clough, Kristi Hill, Lena Stamoulis and Maria Meimaris; unit coordinators Kathy Busa and Alice Santiago; and medical physicists Rui Qi and Tom Harris.

“I actually look forward to my treatments so I can visit with Dr. McGrath’s outstanding team,” writes Robert Walker. “From our first meeting,I felt complete confidence. And I witness the team’s compassionate care toward all of us.”

There is strength in numbers and Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center proves this each year. the one hundred is the Cancer Center’s annual fundraiser, honoring 100 individuals and groups whose diligence and discoveries, philanthropy and passion have helped advance the fight against cancer.
