The luxury hotel Taj Boston made a significant gift to the Massachusetts General Hospital HOPES Program in keeping with its philanthropic interest to support the fight against cancer. The Mass General program focuses on improving the quality of life and well-being of patients with cancer, their families and friends through free wellness, education and support services. The Taj approached Mass General about ways it could support the hospital’s mission. The HOPES Program resonated with the hotel’s management given its interest in and dedication to helping families coping with cancer.

The Taj Boston parent company — Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces headquartered in India — has been making a significant impact on cancer globally. One program the Taj supports annually is the Cancer Patients Aid Association that benefits family and friends of less-privileged cancer patients who are taking care of patients for long durations, rendering it impossible for them to pursue regular employment options.
